Dog walking, with company.
I'm Jay. My cockapoo puppy, Arwyn, comes on every walk — so your dog gets a walking companion, not just a person on the other end of the lead. Insured, local, and small on purpose.
Arwyn & Jay
The differentiator
Your dog doesn't want to walk with a stranger. They want a friend.
Most dog walkers turn up, clip the lead, and head to the field. That's fine for the steps count. But the bit your dog actually wants — a mate to sniff with, a tail to chase, the proper social rhythm of being a dog — only happens with another dog.
Arwyn is that dog. She's a sweet, well-socialised cockapoo puppy, and she walks with every client. Your dog comes home tired in the good way, not the bored way.
"A walker whose own dog comes too" — the one thing that lifts a thirty-minute walk into the bit of the day your dog looks forward to.
Three walks, three prices
Honest, fixed, no surge.
All prices include public-liability insurance, lead-and-poo-bag kit, photo update sent during the walk, and Arwyn's company. No mileage surcharges, no peak-time markup, no card-machine fee — pay weekly by bank transfer, cash on the day, or set-and-forget card autopay.
Founding rates — held while I build up my first five regulars. Yours locks in when we start.

Why you can leave your keys with me
The unglamorous bits I sort first.
Fully insured
£1M public liability with Protectivity. £100k care-and-custody cover for your dog. £10k key-holder cover. Certificate on request.
Local, on foot
I live in Cherry Burton. I walk dogs in Beverley and the villages around — Molescroft, Woodmansey, Walkington, Tickton, Bishop Burton, Leconfield. I don't drive twelve of them in a van from Hull.
One person
You always speak to me. No franchise, no helpdesk, no last-minute "the regular walker's off today."
Off-lead, safely
Full-hour and pack walks include time in a private, fully-fenced field. On public paths every dog stays on the lead. Always.

Questions, honestly answered.
What if my dog doesn't get on with Arwyn?
We do a short meet first — usually fifteen minutes at your front door, free, no obligation. If they hit it off, we're away. If they don't, no drama: I'll walk your dog on their own instead — just me and them, same price, same secure field for the run. Arwyn's a friendly pup but she isn't every dog's cup of tea, and neither of us is going to force a friendship for the sake of a tenner.
What do you need from me before the first walk?
A signed walk agreement (one page), proof your dog's up-to-date on jabs and flea/worming, your vet's name and number, and the keys or door-code arrangement. I'll send you a short form with all of it.
Do you walk in the rain?
Yes. Yorkshire weather is what it is, and most dogs would rather get wet than miss the walk. The only thing that stops a walk is genuine danger to your dog or me — thunderstorms, ice on roads, anything above twenty-five degrees. In those cases I let you know by 7am and we either shift the time or do something gentler indoors.
How do I pay?
Four ways, take your pick: cash on the day, bank transfer at the end of the week, a standing order, or card autopay for your weekly walks — pick your walks and quantities on Stripe, adjust or cancel any time from your inbox. No card fees on your end, no apps to install, no surprise charges. I'll send you a simple weekly note of what's been walked.
Cancellations?
Free up to twelve hours before the walk. Inside twelve hours it's half-price (because I've already turned down another walk in your slot). Same-day "the weather's grim and I changed my mind" is fine the first time, charged after that.
Where do you walk — and is it off-lead?
On public paths — Westwood, river path, quiet roads round Beverley — every dog stays on the lead. That's non-negotiable for me: no dashes into traffic, no surprises with unknown dogs, no chasing after a spooked recall. For proper off-lead running I use a private, fully-fenced field I have access to nearby. Every full-hour walk and pack walk includes time there. So your dog gets both — a proper social walk, and a proper run.
Are you trained / qualified?
I've grown up around dogs and Arwyn's my own. I'm not yet a certified canine first-aider — that course is on the list for autumn. I'll tell you honestly when I am, and what I learned.
Ready when you are
Book a meet-and-walk.
Send me a quick message — your dog's name, breed, where you are in Beverley, and roughly what you're after. I'll come round, meet your dog, walk Arwyn past, and see if it's a fit.
